Your solar 2nd sector of income is ruled by the mighty Sun, the giver of life and strength. This is always helpful when you are thinking of new ways to make money! Being a water sign, your instincts and intuition are always operating, which means you can sense important trends in the economy before the rest of us do. Others may see you as a pushover, but you are just the opposite. You are always able to make tough, calculated business or financial decisions when necessary. Saving to provide for your children's education or your family's security is your biggest goal, and winds up bringing you wealth. By taking care of others, you help yourself.

Many Cancers do well by investing in real estate -- owning your own home is usually important to the Crab. Overall, you are very financially prudent. You think paying retail is insane and you know all the best places to shop. You love to buy household supplies in bulk and take advantage of sales. Is all this bargain hunting worthwhile? Yes it is, and you've got the savings account to prove it! Yet you might be tempted to take a good thing too far. Food coupons may tempt you to buy things you don't need. Cancer, it will take months to consume all those canned goods! When it comes to clothes, you like to get years of wear out of the outfits you buy. Some call you a little stingy, but you want a nest egg for retirement. Cancers like to keep their money in the bank, not wear it on their backs. They know the current rates of interest and probably know how to multiply their savings better than their banker does (unless the banker is a Taurus, Scorpio or Capricorn). Smart Cancer -- you will have the last laugh! Others are just jealous of your ability to plan ahead. Additional areas of possible wealth for you include antiques or investing in things of historical value.

Sometimes, though, you stay in situations longer than you should. Your steadfast devotion gets you to pour energy into situations that have long outlived their usefulness. Learn to move on sooner, rather than later. Your sympathetic heart tends to give every situation the benefit of the doubt, thus allowing you to throw good money after bad. Think about yourself a little, too! One other thing: when Cancers are hit with hard times they will usually cut back on expenses, instead of figuring out ways to make more money. Spend more time figuring out how you can raise your income and less on scrimping! That sounds obvious, but for frugal Cancer, often it isn't!

Hint: Like Scorpio, Cancer has the memory of an elephant, and that is an asset. You always know what you paid for something, whether it was for a loaf of bread or a bar of gold. No one can put something over on you!

Your Financial Outlook for the Year 2000 and Beyond

Uranus, the planet of the unpredictable events, is riding through your 8th sector of "other people's money," a trend that started in June, 1995. Neptune, the planet of dreams, inspiration and confusion, is also in this financial sector, a trend that started in February, 1998. No doubt, you have experienced some rather dramatic positive or negative shifts in your monetary picture under the influence of these two planets. Their combined presence suggests that you should continue to remain conservative in your spending and investments in the years ahead, because neither planet will be moving soon. Uranus will leave your 8th sector of joint resources in 2003 and Neptune won't leave until 2012.

While Uranus could help you win the lottery, this planet could just as easily get you to lend money to someone who'll never repay you, even though he or she may have the best intentions. Neptune suggests you could be in the dark about a joint financial matter in a contract, or even a tax matter (brought on by a spouse, for example). Caution should be your byword. Don't invest in a "hot tip," or be emotional in your spending. If you keep your antenna up, double-check references, and be judicious in your use of credit cards, you will sail through the next few years easily. Once in a while, take a chance and buy a lotto or raffle ticket -- as they say, "hey, you never know!"

Keep in mind that Jupiter, the planet of happiness, growth and fortune, will enter Cancer on July 12, 2001 and stay for a full year. This will be Jupiter's first visit to your sign in over a decade! When Jupiter leaves in August 2002, it will enter your sector of earned income to give you your best financial year ever. Begin working toward this bonanza monetary year by preparing yourself professionally. Have the right experience, credentials, and educational background in place -- whatever you need to stand out.

Eclipses, always harbingers of change, in your money sectors on January 21 and July 31, 2000 continue a trend that you have had to get used to since 1998. Your income has and will continue to bring an element of surprise and change to your everyday life. That set of eclipses, plus one in your sign on July 1, 2000, others in your opposite sign of Capricorn at several points in 2000 and in subsequent years, all suggest a change of direction. While the eclipses can, at times, upset you with surprise developments, they can blast you out of a rut -- possibly into a higher-income job. Eclipses inform us of certain truths and they also bring rewards, if we deserve them. Change brings experience, maturity and growth -- all good things, dear Cancer, so be excited about the future!
