Sagittarius Horoscope for July 2010

Lots will be going on in July, so if you were hoping to take a vacation soon, consider August as your ideal month to go rather than July, dear Sagittarius. You won't want to miss all the exciting news that will be sprouting up in your career soon, and you will want to keep an eye on shifting financial developments and opportunities. It's a month that will require you to stay on your toes, but one where almost everything that happens works in your favor. You don't seem to have a setback due, but if one should occur, you seem to be able to turn that around ultimately to your benefit.

To fully understand all that has been happening in your career, we have to look back to September 2007, when Saturn, the planet that teaches the value of hard work, entered your tenth house of fame, honors, and achievement. That was a seminal moment, when things were about to go in a new and perhaps very different direction. Soon after, you might have seen a career shift. It was not radical like an earthquake, but rather slow and gradual that kept pushing you in a new direction. By now you may see clearly the new role you were moving toward, but at the time you may not quite have known where your end point would be precisely.

Sometime between September 2007 and now, you were asked to show leadership ability, hone new skills, and to learn and reach for new standards. None of this was easy, of course, because that's not how Saturn works. He likes to see you work, and during that time, needs to see that you want to give an earnest, sustained effort. To make things a bit more difficult, none of Saturn's rewards are instant - just the opposite Rewards come much later, so there were no incremental rewards to keep you going. You had to rely on pure faith that you would eventually get to where you needed to be, and that's also part of the plan, to teach you to believe in yourself.

Saturn was on a mission to teach you that anything you can dream can be achieved, for Saturn is the planet of manifestation. When you work hard, you appreciate what you attain - it's a law of nature. Saturn periods show you that you can aim higher than you had before, and that the kind of career success you craved doesn't just happen to other people. It can be yours, too. Saturn provided one or two VIPs who would supervise, push, and prod you to greatness. You may have found some of those supervisors pesky and difficult to please, and they may have had a weird way of showing it at times, but they were on your side!

There must have been times when you were working at your computer, staring up at the clock that read 2 AM, and you realized you never ate dinner (other than that candy bar you had stashed in the back of your drawer). It's times like that when you had to remind yourself that yes, this is a position you really want to master and that you volunteered to work this hard. You did because the value of what you were trying to create was awesome and lasting, and that if you did find a way to measure up, in time you would be a force to be reckoned with. Your time has come, dear Sagittarius. Your test is over, and it's time to pick up your trophy.

Saturn will leave Virgo on July 21, and because Saturn always leaves a gift by the door when he departs, you are due for an exciting professional development in the coming months. It will most likely arrive in early September (just after Labor Day in the USA) in the weeks that follow the new moon, September 8.

This month will be an important one not only for your career but for money, too. As you begin July, you'll still have Mars brilliantly lighting your tenth house of career. Your profile is growing and will continue to become even higher in your company or industry. Indeed, you appear to be putting all the pieces in place for your future success.

Mars is allowing you to contribute a great deal of your personal creativity at work, so don't be shy about voicing ideas in July. Mars rules your solar fifth house of imaginative, artistic, and overall creative ideas, and Mars will now be transiting your house of fame. As you see, your original ideas will be directly linked to your professional ascent. Knowing this, speak up and don't be shy, dear Sagittarius!

You may at times feel as though Saturn is slowing you down prior to July 21, but actually, cautious, detail oriented Saturn is simply demanding a more disciplined approach. I find the phrase, "I'll fake it 'til I make it" the credo of people who do not get what Saturn is all about. Saturn would shudder to hear that phrase and would never stand for that attitude. With Saturn you have to do your homework and get things right, down to the tiniest detail, or else do it again. Saturn is nothing if not excruciatingly thorough. Ha, ha, you can never "wing" anything with Saturn.

Anyway, against this background, the universe has just added two strong eclipses. One eclipse has already occurred, June 26, which may have added to, subtracted from, or changed a source of your income. Even if you didn't change jobs, perhaps your company merged, and the check is now emanating from another corporate name.

When you study the cycles of astrology long enough, you see that there are moments when the tide comes in, and times when the tide goes out. Don't worry if you lose a source of income now - your star is brilliantly on the rise. You've learned so much from Saturn since 2007, and now you are ready to get the corner office, the major title, and the salary to go with it.

This month, the new eclipse in Cancer (19 degrees) to arrive July 11, a solar new moon eclipse, will allow you to get funds from other people, such as from a venture capitalist, a banker, or from a generous donor or sponsor. You may get an insurance payout, a fat commission, get a divorce settlement, or start to see child support. Or, you may sell something expensive, such as a house or a car and get a chunk of cash that way. You may get news of an inheritance, a court settlement, tax refund, a prize winning, or given a mortgage or scholarship. There are many ways this may work out, but you get the idea. Money is on the way, dear Sagittarius.

If you didn't get any news about your salary last month and didn't buy or sell anything expensive (also possible) near the eclipse June 26, you may have seen radical news one month earlier, near May 26, or you will this month near July 26. In each case, add a plus or minus of five days.

The lunar full moon eclipse last month focused on your earned income, and this month's July 11 solar eclipse, a new moon falling in your eighth house, will center on other people's money. If you lost a source of income last month or had a big expense, you may be able to replace that money (with room to spare) this month or at the next eclipse, January 4.

There will be other points to watch prior to that date: August 6, September 8, and December 14 all will be mathematical points of the June 26 eclipse. Just see if any of those dates are important to you, and give all these dates a plus or minus of four days.

If you were hoping to make a real estate move or sale, you may have to re-assess your strategy now that Uranus is turning retrograde from July 5 to December 5. You may get some progress next month at the full moon August 24 in your house of home. Generally, September through mid-January 2011 should be strong, too.

After all this thinking and negotiating you'll need some fun! Consider taking a trip over the weekend of July 24-25, and if possible, add one extra day, your best day of the month, July 26, to make it a long weekend away. The full moon will be sweet to Uranus, Jupiter, and Mars, which will be a remarkably positive lineup. You'll love that weekend - it could become a standout of the year.

I mentioned that July 26 will be so special, and that's because the Sun and Jupiter, your ruler, will be beautifully angled. Jupiter, currently based in your fifth house of creative efforts as well as love, is the planet of good fortune and will signal the Sun in your money house. You could get the funding you need on this day, dear Sagittarius. It would be an ideal day to sign papers, for you are likely to get the lucrative outcome you seek.

Next month Mercury, the planet of intellect, communication, commerce, shipping, and transportation, will go retrograde from August 20 to September 12. All the areas that Mercury rules will weaken, stirring up problems in each area. You won't want to wait too long to sign papers - do that now, particularly near that new moon, August 9. Mercury will retrograde in your career house, so there are delays up ahead in that area, but only for about a month. Just so you know, signing near an eclipse is also not advised, as you likely won't have all the facts you need at eclipse time.

When it comes to love, your picture is mixed. Jupiter and Uranus are now in your true love sector, but Saturn will oppose Uranus on July 26, the last time these two will meet toe-to-toe until 2056. This means that you may experience a difficult episode in love or friendship near July 25. Oddly, money may be at the heart of the problem you have with this person if you follow the discussion all the way to the end of the line. See how you feel.

Keep in mind that although this episode may give you pause, your prospects for finding true love this summer will be brighter now than ever, in fact, greater than you've seen in over a decade. This comes thanks to Jupiter in Aries, in a once-in-12-year visit. You can't meet anyone if you stay home, nor can you meet someone if you have a "sort-of" lover, what I call a "place holder," and is preventing you from meeting anyone else. You need to be open and free to meet new people. If you are, Jupiter will help you with all his might!

Summary

Last month's eclipse on June 26 was to be one of the year's hardest lunar events. You may have heard that a source of income was ending or that a certain financial obligation had to be met, despite your shortfall of cash. This month, a second eclipse will arrive on July 11, also in a money-oriented part of your chart. This one will be friendlier and offer you an array of possible solutions to improve your cash flow. You will have to work to find those new solutions, but if you do make the effort, you'll see they are there, like fruits to pluck off the branch of a very abundant tree.

Another major event happening in your chart this month is the departure of Saturn from your tenth house of career status on July 21. Saturn has tested your mettle for more than two years, and you've had to prove to doubting VIPs that you're ready for bigger challenges and greater responsibilities. After July 21, Saturn's test comes off, and you can finally work without the unending pressure that VIPs have put on you.

The fact that your source of income is changing may be the very best news of all. Saturn's departure on July 21 shows you've completed Saturn's vigorous obstacle course, and that by now you've proven your worth. Just after September 8 - the new moon in your house of fame - you will be ready to reap the rewards. Keep in mind that Saturn rarely sends rewards DURING its visit but always AFTER he leaves. You are in line for your career victory now that you've fought your dragons and have learned so very much. Well done, dear Sagittarius!

Remarkably, Mars, Venus, and Mercury will be in perfect position to help you locate your next big career opportunity. Venus, coincidentally in the same, lofty house of honors and awards from July 10 to August 6 and adding a glow to your reputation, allows you to get all the right references. Truly, you are now about to find yourself at the right place at the right time when it comes to career.

Take a chance to do some carefree travel at month's end. The full moon, July 25, plus or minus four days, will coax you to get out of town for a long weekend. With Jupiter, your ruler, in perfect angle to the Sun, there's no reason to hang back. You'll love the people, the conversations and accommodations, the food, and the setting. Why stay in town when places so close to home offer such a lovely respite?

When it comes to romance, you truly have a magnificent picture shaping up. Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, is combining energies with Uranus, planet of surprise, and both are in fellow fire signs like yours. If your birthday falls near November 22-26, you will receive double gifts, as the mathematical degrees of these planets are in perfect position to shower you with radiant, romantic happiness. All Sagittarius, however, will benefit from this now through early September, and then again from late January through early June.

If you do have a problem in love, it is likely to come near the Saturn-Uranus opposition, when either a friend or a sweetheart seems to act in weird, unpredictable ways. You will have to decide if this is an aberration to the norm, or if you are seeing the true colors of someone (and it horrifies you). This is a make-it-or-break-it aspect, but it may not affect you if there is no revelation for the universe to uncover. If you do have a tiff, the dispute could be about money, although that may or may not be obvious right away.

Dear Sagittarius, your time for love is coming no matter what happens. You have not had the kind of long-term cosmic help that Jupiter is capable of providing you, and he's going to be working with you quite a bit in the months to come. Have faith that you were meant to find true love, and that actually, it could be quite literally around the next corner.

Eclipses are back. A full moon lunar eclipse arrived last month on June 26, and this month, a new moon solar eclipse is due July 11, and both are in your financial sectors.

The source of your income is rapidly shifting, and you'll have to stay on your toes. You will need to adjust and reinvent yourself, but it will work to your benefit.

At the same time, there's good news in that Saturn will leave your tenth house of reputation, a place Saturn has occupied since September 2007. You have proven your worth - soon you'll interview for new positions (or a promotion) and claim your prize.

July will be a turning point, for Mars and Mercury will be beautifully positioned until July 26 to help you get ahead in your career.

The fact that one source of income is drying up may be the best news, for the positions of Saturn and Mars are helping you move into a whole new professional era, one that's better and more lucrative for you.

Although money and career will take your main attention this month, you will get some time for fun once Mars moves into your people / events / fun / community sector (eleventh house) from July 29 until September 14.

Travel will be a fun diversion in July, especially near the full moon July 25.

Best dates for love: July 3-4, 9-10, 13, 16-17, 21-22, 24-26. July 26 could be one of your best days, but on the same day, Saturn will oppose Uranus, and therefore could be difficult. Talk about mixed messages!

These eclipses are not like most others, and I said to Bill that I wished I had a way to reach my readers in a more direct, warm, and natural way to explain all that was about to happen in June through Labor Day in the United States, September 6.
