Pisces Horoscope for January 2012

You start the year off in a highly social mood, and no wonder - December may have turned out to be surprisingly busy for your career, and you probably barely had a chance to get into the swing of the holiday season before it was over. Now, everyone is ready to get back to work, and you may feel a little cheated out of the time you needed to relax. You will have it now.

Stay cheerful, dear Pisces, because with the Sun, Pluto, and Mercury moving through your eleventh house of hopes and wishes, you will have plenty of reasons to connect with friends and to socialize quite a bit during the first three weeks of January. You may have made at least one new friend in December, and this month, you will have time to cultivate that friendship and grow it into something more. You will find the new people who enter your life now will be very stimulating and expose you to new interests, activities, and even more new people - this friendship could be the start of a whole new chapter in your life.

The eleventh house also rules groups, so you may find that you are with many others, say, at a large wedding, charity event, seminar, or other event that draws many people together. If you are active in a club, community, humanitarian group or charity endeavor, or online in social networking, you will find that you will take on a high profile, leadership role in those activities now. With Jupiter in your house of writing and speaking, you may be doing a lot of both this month, for the new moon of December 24 received quite a powerful vibration from Jupiter.

One of the bonuses of Jupiter, the generous planet, in such warm and encouraging angle to the planets in Capricorn, could bring you important press coverage. The topic would be the work you do, and the publicity you receive now would be positive and bring you more business.

All around, you are looking at a lively, vibrant month, thanks to Jupiter, a planet that will always bring "more" of anything it touches! When Jupiter is involved, money cannot be far behind.

Love is in the picture too, dear Pisces. The sparkling highly romantic full moon of January 9 (plus or minus four days) is about to bring an exciting romantic experience - one you long remember! You may meet someone new and very intriguing or, if you are dating, your partner may surprise you with some great news. In fact, you may even get a marriage proposal (or give one)!

This full moon could not be better! It will fall in the divine-for-Pisces sign of Cancer at 18 degrees, and will reach out to Mars, currently in your seventh house of partnerships and marriage. Wow! Four days later, the Sun will have a similarly friendly contact with Mars, underscoring how powerful the whole week of January 7 to 14 will be for you.

All Pisces will have something to celebrate, but if your birthday falls within four days of March 8, you may have the most to be excited about at the full moon in Cancer January 9.

I want to add that Jupiter is currently busy sending plenty of benefits to Pisces with birthdays that fall within five days of February 22 as well, for they were touched by last month's new moon, December 24.

Later in the week, after the full moon, on Friday, January 13 (yes, this is a Friday the Thirteenth), Venus and Neptune, your ruler, will combine in Aquarius in your most secret, private sector of your chart. This is due to be a highly glamorous, shimmering evening, and because this house would cover blind dates, if you are single, encourage your best friend set up a date for you! Your friend knows the type of person you'd like, and I bet your friend has an idea of someone to introduce to you.

Your prospects for enjoying love will get even better once Venus enters Pisces on January 14 to stay until February 7. Venus, the supreme planet of love and beauty, will make you, dear Pisces, her very favorite of all the signs, and she will work hard to showcase your charms.

While Venus is in Pisces, starting January 14, it would be an ideal time to update your appearance. You may want to experiment with a new hair style or style of dress. Or you may also want to book a pampering spa treatment, or schedule beauty / grooming consultation. Venus knows that to attract love, you have to make your outer "package" the best it can be.

Another one of my favorite days for you when it comes to love and romance (in addition the tender full moon January 9) will be Saturday, January 14, when Venus in Pisces will receive golden beams from Jupiter, the good fortune planet. This vibe will make you completely irresistible and is such a strong and powerful one that you will feel it from Friday, January 13 through Sunday, January 15. You may want to take a trip over this weekend - it would be one of your best times of the month to go.

In the background of all the emphasis on love is also an equally strong emphasis on partnerships and marriage. Mars is still in your opposite sign of Virgo, a long trend that first started in mid-November and that will end in early July. I don't know if your interest in merging energies with another will be for romantic or business reasons, for the seventh house rules both. You may be serious about the person you are dating or are married to now, and look to your partner to be quite a newsmaker in your life.

Or you may be looking forward to signing a contract with a business partner, agent, other expert, or with a whole company that you will be collaborating / partnering with to achieve a certain result or service.

Your partnership plans may hit a snag, however, when Mars goes retrograde, from January 23 to April 13. It would not be the right time to come together - it would be better to put plans on hold and simply think through your plans. You may, during this time, change your mind about something - say, if this is for business, you may find another company you like better or that will give you better terms. Or, if you had hoped to marry, you may feel you've pushed forward the relationship too quickly and need to put on the brakes and go a little slower while you get to know one another better.

If you want to sign your partnership in January before Mars goes retrograde on January 23, I feel it is still not the ideal time to do so. Although every planet in our solar system will be moving in direct orbit (a rather unusual situation, and a positive one at that!) I still feel you would be best to wait until the new moon, April 21, to sign and officially begin you relationship.

Mars, although direct in the first three weeks, is moving very slowly. Under normal circumstances, Mars would only take a little over a day to move one degree, but in early January it is taking Mars five days to cover the same distance. You see why I say it would be better to wait until late April. (I always ALSO want you to work with good new moons, and the April 21 will be a peach of a new moon.) Mars is the energy planet - think of him as the booster rocket you need to send your idea into the stratosphere and into orbit. If you have a weak, sleepy Mars at the onset of your venture, you may never get the project to gather enough steam to be highly profitable.

This does not mean that anything is basically wrong with the relationship you hope to crystallize, only that conditions around you, some completely outside your control, will slow things down. Mars is the natural ruler of your second house of earned income, so the reason for the delay may have something to do with money (probably the lack of it) rather than anything else. If the partnership is for business reasons, it may be that legal paperwork will slow things down, too, but it seems more likely you will need to contribute funds to your partner to get things going, and you simply don't have the amount you need saved up yet, and can't quite swing it from a bank as a loan yet either.

Be cheerful, for in all ways, nothing will be able to stop you in the long run. See this as a temporary delay. If you want, you can look at your other business proposals in the meantime if you feel uncertain about what to do. No matter what, you should not move forward until late April.

When it comes to your career, if you work in a creative profession, your artistic ideas will be very strong in January, and you may be seeing a creative project reach fruition on the full moon January 9, plus or minus five days. This one would be a vital one - see what you are working on at that time.

Later, you may want to see what comes up January 20 and 21, when a new assignment may bring you a generous fee. That project would tap your natural ingenuity and fire up your imagination, and you would be awarded it because your reputation precedes you, dear Pisces!

Let's talk for a moment about your home and family situation. Last month there was an eclipse, December 10, which often delivers news within a week of when it falls, but sometimes can deliver news one month to the day later, plus or minus five days. For this reason, if not too much happened during December involving your physical space or regarding news related to your parents or other family members, then watch to see if you hear anything near January 9, plus or minus five days. Nothing may develop, but I thought I would flag this date to remind you to be alert at that time for these matters.

All month you will find your intuition to be very sharp, and that your inner antenna will be pick up many signals about events and people around you that you must trust and follow. This comes thanks to a very active Uranus, the planet of electricity and genius that will be in a position to sharpen your instincts. While your hunches will be strong all through the start of January, once you get to the new moon in Aquarius, January 23, you will see your intuition reach new heights - and that you later find was eerily correct.

This same new moon will light your twelfth house of behind-the-scenes activities that is strongly associated with artistic activities you engage in when you are in solitude. If there is a project you would like to work on by yourself in a quiet environment, do, for the work you turn out would likely be something you would be proud to show - it could be among the very best you've ever produced.

The twelfth house is the last house of the horoscope and symbolizes the end of a cycle. This month take time to reflect on what you would like to do in your coming birthday year, before your important new cycle starts next month on the new moon in Pisces, February 21.

The new moon in Aquarius due January 23 will reach out directly to Uranus, the electric planet of unexpected news and events. You will find the weeks that follow that new moon to be chockfull of unusual, unexpected experiences and opportunities, and news will come right out of the blue.

One in particular that comes up near the end of the week, January 27 or 28, will be an assignment that could make you a nice fee, and it would come through the involvement or recommendation of a friend. How great is that?

Summary

What a wonderful month for romance, friendship, and socializing! You will see this to be true from the very beginning of the month, and opportunities for fun and love will keep rolling!

First, you are due for a magical romantic episode, and it will arrive within four days of the tender full moon January 9. This is the time to be out and about, for you could meet your one true love within days of this full moon.

If you are dating and in love, the exchange of words and feelings on the proceeding weekend, January 7-8 or sometime that fall closely after those dates, should set your heart beating double time. Be sure to mark down all the days I listed as special, because you will want to take full advantage. One in particular, January 14, would make the whole weekend of January 13-15 special for a short trip

I should add here that it is also possible that a surprise pregnancy could come up, but with Uranus so beautifully angled, it looks as though you will be delighted and excited if that should happen.

The only downside of the month is that Saturn will be at general odds with Uranus (in wide mathematical degree) suggesting that money may at times be short and cause anxiety. Perhaps you will need to spend money as a result of all that ensues. You can find the money you need, so don't be gloomy. The only one day when you will have to be very careful with financial matters and not agree to anything is January 19, when Saturn will be in hard angle to the Sun.

Later this year, Saturn leaves your eighth house at long last (it has been there since October 2009) and you will not be at the mercy of outside events beyond your control that continually play havoc with your finances. In the meantime, there is one day when financial news is not likely to be good - that will be January 19 when Saturn and the Sun are simply not getting along.

Creatively, you are on a roll, and at this same full moon in Cancer, so divinely special for you, you may be putting the final touches on an enormously important artistic project that you will be anxious to unveil to the world.

Judging by the prominent position Mars has been playing in your chart since mid-November, you appear to have a partner who is important to you, or one with whom you hope to forge either a new partnership or marriage soon. This person appears to be exceptionally good for you. Keep faithful to your plan, even as you encounter delays and obstacles in the coming weeks. You probably won't see final fulfillment of your dream until the end of April or early May 2012, but that's fine - early May has some of the best vibrations of the year.

The reason you may have to be patient with partnership efforts is that Mars is about to retrograde from January 23 to April 13, and during that time you will need to make refinements to your blueprints. Don't be dismayed to hear this news, but rather, see this as an opportunity to get extra time to breathe, reevaluate your approach, and create a stronger plan for the future.

The new moon of January 23 will begin a brief, but critical period of meditation and reflection, one you can use for any purpose. The ideas you come up with now may have strong profit potential, but you will have to think through them thoroughly before getting started. You may be tempted to rush to show others what you are thinking, but with Mars about to slow down for several months, cool your jets, and get a few non-partial opinions about your plans first - then set about making your idea even sharper and more compelling.

Venus tours Pisces from January 14 to February 8: great for your love and looks.

Love should be over the moon January 9, plus or minus four days.

If hoping to conceive a baby, the full moon January 9 will also be your friend.

January 7-13 should be great for generating astoundingly high levels of creativity.

January 19 could be a very challenging day for money matters. Do not sign any contracts on this day - profits would take forever to grow.

Mars in Virgo is having you think about a partnership or getting married very seriously. Now that Mars is about to retrograde from January 23 to April 13, you may revise, reverse, or delay your plans, your blueprints, or your terms. The alliance may be for business or love, but for now, you need to wait before you proceed.

The new moon of January 23 will sharpen your intuition and shift the emphasis from public to private life. It's time to think - by the end of February, the new moon in Pisces, you will be ready to move forward more assertively.

Why My Book Is Late

All year I was listening hard to all that you asked me on Twitter and Facebook. I realized how valiantly you were all coping with the challenges that a difficult world economy had wrought, and how dearly you needed to know which areas of your life would be bring you the greatest progress and happiness.

I had a manuscript almost ready, but thinking about your words, I felt I had to add much more material to it. What you asked me and what you said on my social networking pages kept echoing in my mind. So in November, I announced to my team I was lengthening the book dramatically. I was adding chapters and doubling each sign's chapter from what I had already written, which are now almost four times as long as my regular Astrology Zone forecasts. Only you can be the judge of what I have done, but I feel this book, still in progress, is the best book I have ever written. It would be easier if I didn't have to stop to write 40,000 words for Astrology Zone each month, but of course, I would always do that!

I set out to create a book that would help you every day of the year. Why, I asked myself, write a good book when I could stretch and push myself to create a great one for you. By now you know I am a perfectionist. My revamped book is the very best I have ever done. It is not finished yet, but I am working every day around the clock on it. It will be wrapped in joy and happiness and it will be of value to you. I have no idea when it will be done, but I know there is great urgency. I am working every minute on it.

There are authors of books out there that pretend to be my book and many of you have written to say you bought their book in error. You only noticed when, you said, it didn't sound like me. I do not use glyphs or astrological language in my calendar; everything is explained in a crystal clear way for a layman. I know you just want to know what is coming and how to plan for it!

To create my book and calendar, and to prepare for my talks, I memorized 312 charts (13 lunar months times 12 signs, times two lunations each month: a new moon and a full moon). I started this in April. I memorize all the aspects because sometimes something happening in one part of the sky will influence an aspect happening in another part of the sky - no aspect can be taken alone, by itself. For example, last year, on what was to be the luckiest day of the year, April 6 (Jupiter conjunct the Sun), we also had Saturn opposed to the Sun on the same day, completely washing out the happiness of the luckiest day of the year. I didn't even discuss it in my book - how could I? You see how I have to be vigilant to all parts of the sky for you - you are depending on me to do my homework thoroughly.

Many of you know my mother was extremely ill with pneumonia this summer and in intensive care and then in a nursing home for physical therapy for four weeks. My sister and I were at her side every day to help bring her back to her former strong health by showing her love and attentiveness to all her medical matters, and when she could eat, we brought homemade meals. Little Mom is well now. She is home, and doctors, who were ready to give up on her, cannot get over the remarkable recovery she has made.

I don't regret one minute the time I gave her to get her well again, even though it did take time away from my writing. She has no one but my sister and I to depend upon - together we worked as a team to get Little Mom well. This year the holidays were especially poignant, as we watched her blue eyes sparkle with delight in being with her four grandchildren, who had gathered around her at home to give her love, presents, and kisses.

My new TV show is called "Astrology Zone with Susan Miller" (it was formerly called "Horoscopes"). I am very excited to tell you about my new season.

My Video On Demand TV program will be available at no charge each month to 16 million Comcast subscribers who have purchased a digital package. I have finished taping five months of shows for you.

Comcast is only seen in the USA, so for now, we are sorry, there will be no foreign markets planned. Please tell us if you don't see my show in your market.

In most cases, you will find me on "GET LOCAL" where you turn to see your News, Weather, Sports - and my horoscopes! These are the markets that you will most likely find my show under GET LOCAL:

If you don't know your rising sign, you won't get quite as much out of my monthly forecasts on Astrology Zone or my daily forecasts on cell phones (or delivered to your email box daily by Daily Astrology Zone). To have your chart done, you would need to know your precise time of birth, to the minute. If you do know it, then you would be wise to have your natal chart done. This explains why all Aries are not alike, or all Gemini - we are all a beautiful, rich combination of the rising sign and Sun sign, as well as a tapestry of the other planets. On the day you were born, the pattern in the sky will never be repeated in time or space - you are truly unique. What a magical piece of information!

Your natal chart will never change - it stays the same for life! You need only do your natal chart once and never again. Once you do have your chart, you will get more insight into your innate gifts and personality strengths.
