Capricorn Forecast for October 2008

Wow, some of your most sterling career opportunities of 2008 will surface during the first two weeks of October. The problem is, Mercury will be retrograde, a holdover from last month, making it not a good time to accept a new position. You can investigate new positions, but just proceed slowly and don't jump to any conclusions. Delay making a career commitment if asked until the last third of the month - your best time to do so.

If you accept a position earlier in October, it will change in ways you can't now predict, and that certainly won't please you. It is not that you will be deceived - it is more likely that conditions surrounding the position will change so rapidly that even your intended employer can't be sure of what's about to come up around the next corner. Or, it may be that management has not thought through the position very well and will flip-flop about what they feel they need in a candidate at the last minute, or when you've already taken the job.

Mercury started to retrograde last month on September 23 and will go direct on October 15, but will not be fully functional until October 20. These periods are always very fluid, and with conditions changing dynamically minute-by-minute on several fronts. You won't have the facts you need to make a decision but you will have those facts later, from October 20 onward. Be patient - you will be glad you waited.

If you decide to reject a career opportunity that comes up now, you will have a second chance in April 2009 to find something you like better, so don't despair. April will bring really special career aspects for you, so there's no reason to take a job that you aren't enthusiastic about now.

The full moon, October 14 plus four days, will help you make a major decision about real estate, property, home, or family. All full moons are operative four days on either side, so see if you can deliver your decision no earlier than October 18 for best results. This full moon is a happy one, so you might be ready to move or buy a gorgeous new piece of furniture. There is some evidence that you may entertain during this full moon period too, and if so, you've chosen the perfect time of the year to invite friends in for cocktails or dinner.

Your social popularity will be very strong in October and will continue to grow. Actually, this month will only be a small preview to a bigger, more vibrant social life next month.

At the new moon October 28, you'll see invitations from friends flow from many quarters. You may get involved in a club event, charity, humanitarian effort, or political fundraiser. Apparently, your friends are well connected, as evidenced by an aspect occurring on October 1 between Mars and Pluto, and on October 21, between the Sun and Pluto. In these cases, this month you may get a chance to mix business with pleasure quite effectively.

There will be many new people to get to know, and with the Sun, Mars, and new moon filling this sector, and all the while beaming Uranus golden rays, you'll soon see that events will spark new interests and insights. It's sure to be a lively, invigorating time, and you'll find that the new people you meet will provide all the stimulation you need to feel rejuvenated.

Romantically, some of the energy of your eleventh house of social fun will bounce into the opposite house, namely your fifth house of true love. This influence will offer you a lovely counterpoint to all the career and home-related decisions on the agenda this month. Venus will be in the right position to set up a bewitching phase in October's first ten days, so if you like, at that time, leave work just a little early to enjoy all the cosmos has cooked up for you.

Specifically, one delightful evening will occur over the weekend of October 4-5, when someone you meet may really stand out in a romantic way. If single, you'll want to know this person better!

Another day, equally exciting, will occur on October 9 or 10, when Venus will receive highly electric beams from Uranus.

A party or gathering should set your spirits soaring either over the weekend of October 25-26 or on Monday, October 27. At this point you'll be with many others and enjoy a luxurious or lavish evening. What a night to be out with friends!

The month keeps on rolling, especially on October 31, Halloween, thanks to a wonderful vibe between Mars (action and energy) and Uranus (surprise and creativity). This will be a banner night for attending a party, but the competition for best costume will be very stiff. Start designing your costume early!

Your most romantic evenings: October 1, 4-5, 9-10, 21, 25-27, and 31.

Summary

This is your big moment to make your move in your career, thanks to the new moon that appeared on September 29 in your house of honors, awards, achievement, and fame. You will have until October 12 or so to make contacts with a wide variety of prospective employers.

Mercury is retrograde, however, so that complicates things, and to make matters even a little trickier, Mercury is retrograding in the very same house of career. This means that any job you discuss is liable to change drastically later, either before you take it or after. Go slowly and ask many questions. You will do best by going back to executives you used to work with to see if there's something else you can do together in the future. Going back to the past is always a very good idea when Mercury is in this phase.

Be sure not to accept or start any new position until Monday, October 20, for otherwise you may not be there as long as you assume you would.

At the full moon, October 14, plus or minus four days, you will crystallize a home or family-related question. You can state your decision or sign papers as soon as Saturday, October 18, if necessary. This full moon will be sweetly angled to Pluto, so you may find you have some very influential help at this time, perhaps from a friend, family member, powerful broker, or other person.

With Mars circulating in your social house of friendship, fun, friends, and events, your social calendar will sparkle.

For now, start with your first stellar day, Sunday, October 5, when Venus will be beautifully angled to Jupiter in Capricorn. Venus will be working her way through your most social house, your eleventh sector of friends, events, new people, and even hopes and wishes. This day deserves a star on your calendar - something you do socially should leave you feeling really good.

On October 9, 10, or over the weekend of October 11-12, you may decide very spontaneously to take a little trip to a nearby town. Excellent idea!

Your social life will ratchet up even more after the Sun moves into Scorpio on October 22 to warm that sector, and bring more activity there - but there will be more to come.

Another day to plan something special: Monday, October 27 (or the weekend that precedes this date), when Mars will text Jupiter on your behalf - you win with great events to attend.

Finally, Halloween should be a real stunner this year, the best fun you can imagine. Circle October 31 because Mars and Uranus will be best buddies, helping you in every way!

Key dates:

Career opportunities for advancement are excellent but could be problematic. Go slowly, but investigate all offers nevertheless: October 1-10.

Mercury will retrograde in your career sector. It normalizes: October 20, so it would not be wise to accept a job before that date.

A home or family matter gets settled, or you entertain friends at home (a good idea): October 14.

Fun with friends is accented: most of the month, after October 4.

Socialize even more, and reach out. Join a new club, or help a political candidate or charity: after the new moon October 28.

Your most romantic evenings: October 1, 4-5, 9-10, 21, 25-27, and 31.

Verizon Wireless and T-Mobile customers - When you text AZP to 75777 you will receive a text message back with step-by-step instructions on how to download the application.

Example, Verizon customers are told to go to "Get it now," then "Tools on the Go," then "Mind, Body & Soul," and then select Astrology Zone Premier. So, Verizon customers will have to actually exit the Text Message and go back into the menu on their phone. This is something that you, as a Verizon customer, have to do to get any application so it's not a new process, and it's worth the effort!

AT&T and Sprint customers - When you text AZP to 75777 you will receive a text message back that includes a link to the application. It is a more direct process than the one outlined above.

Not all phones are equipped to take new technology, so check first with your provider and explain which phone you own. If you purchased a cell phone in the past year, chances are, your phone is ready.

iPhone - Our application to be approved by Apple very soon. It's nearly ready to announce! (Our engineers have given me a finished version for my iPhone, so if you come to my events in California, you can see it! It is working perfectly, but Apple has to take a look at it first.)

Every carrier sets their own rates, so they vary a bit, but most charge between $3.00 and $4.00 a month for my service. Check with your provider to find out what Astrology Zone Premier™ would cost for you.
