Cancer Horoscope for July 2010

It's birthday month and you want it to be happy and special. It will be! The eclipse of June 26 has occurred, and that was the more emotional eclipse of the two coming our way. If you have a birthday that falls close to June 26, that eclipse was to be your more important of the two, and it highlighted your closest relationship. If you didn't notice any news last month, note on your appointment book that you might see some developments involving a personal or business relationship within four days of July 25, this month.

The next eclipse, a solar new moon, will arrive in Cancer July 11 and will set off a whole new personal cycle for you, one that will allow you to see yourself and your talents in a new light. At this time, a door will open, seemingly appearing out of thin air, proving that just when you thought life would bring just more of the same, it doesn't - it brings something far better!

This eclipse has some lovely planetary support from Jupiter (luck), Uranus (surprise), and Mars (action). This could be a very active time for you! The closer your birthday falls to July 11, the more dramatic the results of the eclipse will be. In the six months to come, you may see your life change quite dramatically, but it's time for that - you are ready to move on to bigger challenges.

While the last eclipse - June 26 - had you listening closely to all that a partner had to say, this eclipse will be your turn to speak. This is new for you, for you tend to focus on others more than you do on your own needs. Still, it's time to state what YOU need to be happy. You have changed and matured, but you may not have given yourself credit or even noticed how far you've come and how impressively you've grown.

If you feel bored, stuck, or unhappy with the way your life has been going and like the idea of a fresh start in a completely new environment (home, work, relationship - you decide), this eclipse will let you do so. In fact, when we have an eclipse in our own sign, the effect is so strong that even one's appearance can change radically. If you want a complete makeover - new hairstyle and look - go right ahead! In fact, some Cancers will even change their name, for Uranus is involved, and that's a signature of this planet's influence!

You will make your most brilliant gains in your career. Your greatest area of concern - over the long range - may be in regard to a housing or family-related situation. (In the latter case, the family member is more likely to be a parent than anyone else.) Somehow you will have to find a way to take full advantage of the career choices on tap, while you keep up your end of the bargain in a home or family situation.

Clearly, your career opportunities have rarely been this bright. With Jupiter and Uranus pulling for you in a very powerful way, you will soon find yourself in a very enviable position in the coming two months. Both planets will back out of your tenth house of career in September and will be back by January. Rarely have you had all the right conditions to help you find the perfect avocation for you. By the time you get to April 2011, you may get on a very different career path, one that will give you all the prestige, power, profit, and control that you crave. You can start now finding that ideal job - it's there for you.

In order to see the career gains I see, you must remain staunchly realistic, and not fall for shady schemes or wild promises by unscrupulous people. You may be saying to yourself, "I would never fall for those sketchy come-ons!" The problem is, ideas may be presented as clever and entrepreneurial, but are really shady and manipulative, and some of the smartest people would fall for the "logic" being presented. Jupiter and Uranus, when together, spell hope - but sometimes it's not realistic hope.

When looking at a new position or entrepreneurial deal, ask a lot of hard questions. Don't let enthusiasm make you fall in love with the idea before you've given the offer a thorough once over. It would be a shame to accept a shady job offer when you have such golden aspects. Be choosy about how you spend your time - it's the most precious resource and one that can never be replenished.

Your home is a long-range concern. Perhaps you are concerned about a parent, a different aging relative, or a housing-related situation that begs for solution. Saturn is just entering this part of your chart for two years, to end October 2012. If you ask, "Two years? I have dealt with this for more than that by now," there is a possible answer! If you have Gemini rising, that would explain this ongoing (and very long) condition. Most Cancers had a preview of what was to come sometime between October 29, 2009, and April 7.

It may help to think about the nature of Saturn. Although called the taskmaster, like an army sergeant, Saturn's job is to toughen you up and make you stronger and wiser - not to make you miserable! Saturn will only teach you what you need to know. Some people need only a little tutoring from Saturn while others need a lot!

For example, if you are just out of college, Saturn will show you the reasons you are ready to lease your own apartment and how to take care of all the tasks your mother used to do for you when you lived in your parent's home.

Saturn often asks you to sacrifice something that is not as important to you in favor of what is. Of all the planets, Saturn is best at getting us to marshal resources in a highly effective way - one that brings results! So for example, if you never thought you could ever own a house, Saturn will show you that yes, you can! In a way, Saturn transits are rites of passage, showing us we are ready to move from one level of evolution to another.

If you are a little bit older and already lived through your first Saturn visit to your house of home and family in prior days, from September 1979 to September 1982, you will find your second visit of Saturn to be much easier than the first. That would be because you have already learned a great deal from Saturn's first visit to your house of home, and you won't have as much to learn.

Saturn materializes dreams and also helps us to tangibly demonstrate our feelings for someone. Over the coming months, you will think long and hard about your living situation and will start to make concrete plans for the future.

If you should feel anchored to a home situation, it will be because Saturn will want you to concentrate hard on home-and-family commitments and responsibilities. After all, this is the planet that teaches us that nothing of value comes for free - Saturn shows us that we appreciate what we work to achieve! You will now have a chance to create stability or to show an elderly relative how much he or she means to you.

Once Mars moves into your house of home from July 29 to September 14, you will be very strongly focused on home and family. This will be one of the most productive periods of the year to make long-range decisions, although you will also have a chance to do so in the two weeks that follow the new moon, October 7.

Good news about finances is sure to put a bounce in your step on the full moon, July 25, plus or minus four days. This full moon falls in Aquarius, lighting your eighth house of other people's money. You may settle a deal, finish a divorce, get to a settlement in a court case, or be awarded a scholarship, mortgage, or severance package. Or, you may receive a generous cash gift for your birthday or win a prize.

Whatever it is, you will feel gratified by what happens. I say that because this full moon will be in fine angle to Jupiter (financial generosity) and Uranus (unanticipated events). You seem to have been plagued with a shortfall of cash lately, but this full moon should help by providing some of the money you need.

On July 30, Saturn will conjunct the Sun, meaning they will be arm in arm, and because Saturn is considered a cold, icy planet, and the Sun, a hot, fiery one, this will be the meeting of fire and ice. Traditionally, this aspect can make us feel overwhelmed, depressed, tired, or quite sensitive to the criticism of an authority figure we admire. Knowing this is due to be a hard day (especially if your birthday falls in June), vow to get more sleep and stay strong in days leading to July 30. The following day, Mars and Saturn will be in lockstep too, so July 31 won't be so great either.

The Sun rules your financial house, so you may alternatively find finances very tight on July 30 or 31. Sometimes it works out that a decision you make on this day turns out not to be a good one for finances, but this is only revealed later. Alas, this is due to be one point in the year when everyone will feel a little "off" and in need of tender loving care.

Prior to June 29 Mars will light your travel sector, so if you can get away for only a night or two, you should go. You can get to a better balance in a new setting, and help you return home refreshed and with renewed energy.

Romance? To be honest, September and even more, November, will be better. This month brings so many changes that you may not have time for fun and love. I will say that travel will help you relax, so if you have a partner, by all means, try to go away for a few days. Perhaps the eclipse of July 11 will bring you someone new or help you draw closer to someone you are already attached to.

Last month's eclipse June 26 certainly revealed a lot, especially if you were born in June. If you are still with someone you've been dating, you may be together for life. That was a big pressure point and so far, it seems you may have survived it.

Your most romantic days this month include: July 1-2, 5-6, 9-10, 11 (wild card), 13, 18-19, and 28-29.

Summary

Last month's eclipse on June 26 might have brought up difficult relationship questions that will need to be solved in July. You may decide to talk with your partner, or you may simply get up and leave - the choice is yours. Before you can fully digest all that has happened in June, a new moon solar eclipse in Cancer will barrel forward on July 11. This eclipse won't have as powerful an emotional punch, and will be quite welcome because it will open a whole new path.

Career opportunities are shining brightly and seem miraculously suited to your qualifications. Life is rarely this way, but now that it is, use the coming weeks to look at your options. Fight for the job that attracts you. You are being given a lovely and unexpected chance to make a name for yourself. Be confident and explore all offers.

Home-related matters are again pressing on you, and just when you thought the situation might resolve itself without your intervention, you see that it won't. You will have to figure out how to integrate rapidly changing career conditions with shifting responsibilities at home. This is coming about because of Saturn's return to your home and family sector July 21. Saturn will stay until October 2012, so when you weigh your career options, realize that your present home or family situation may be ongoing for a much longer period than you now can imagine. Two years seems to be the operative number.

Although getting things "just so" may involve some juggling, you can find happiness. Those who depend on you are grateful for your help. Draw up a new blueprint for the future in the light of the June and July eclipses and the revelations they revealed. When Mars moves into your home sector on July 29, you will need to be ready to swing into action. You'll see a strong emphasis on home and family until mid-September. On July 30 and 31 you may feel overwhelmed, but realize it's only a temporary feeling.

One very good piece of good news is that a generous check may come in suddenly, within four days of the full moon July 25. It may be a commission, benefits package, venture capital investment, scholarship or financial aid, divorce, child support or other court settlement, mortgage, or other bundle of cash. You may win a prize or receive a belated birthday gift - and whatever it is, you'll be smiling.

Throughout July, travel could bring you instant relaxation. Venus will be in Virgo from July 10 to August 6 and will ensure more fun and love on your travels. If you're feeling worn down by life's demands, treat yourself to a soothing few days off in a waterside setting and plenty of sunshine. Take along a friend - one pal will be very supportive of you now.

Dates to Note for Cancer:

As the month begins, last month's full moon eclipse of June 26 may have rocked your world. As you begin July, you will need to decide what to do about what you learned. Eclipses bring truth - if there was none to show you, you won't feel that lunar eclipse.

Your career choices will be exciting now and could represent the best part of life due to the link of Jupiter and Uranus. All month opportunities glow, so investigate them. In a way, they can be described as once-in-a-lifetime opportunities.

Your home situation will again need attention, so you will have to consider needs of family or residential questions when deciding on a career choice. You will especially see the truth of this after July 21, onward.

When Mars enters your home area for two months, July 29 to September 14, you may find developments on the home front to be intense and impossible to ignore. Be philosophical: At least things will get settled.

Buy a raffle ticket on the full moon, July 25 plus or minus four days. You might win, or then again, you may receive a generous gift.

Travel is the one area of your life sure to thrill you, and it could help engender love. Plan your trip anytime from July 10 to 30.
